• Glen Cook appointed as District 6 commissioner following vacancy (michigansthumb.com) — Ubly residents now have a familiar face influencing county decisions, as former Ubly Police Department officer Glen Cook has been appointed Huron County’s District 6 commissioner through 2028. Cook, a longtime local law enforcement officer and youth coach, was chosen in a 4–2 board vote after interviews that also weighed candidates’ ties to wind energy projects.
