• 7 projects Grand Rapids area planners approved in September (mlive.com) — Walker’s Planning Commission has reapproved the 114-home Eden Field development at Bristol Avenue and 3 Mile Road after fixing a clerical error in earlier notices. The project calls for 64 detached condos, 50 townhomes, new private roads, and public utilities, with phase one expected to break ground in 2027 and future phases following based on demand.
   

• Meijer donates $1 million to support new Walker library ahead of October opening (mlive.com) — Walker residents will soon get a much larger, modernized city library, boosted by a $1 million donation from Meijer toward the nearly $25 million expansion on Remembrance Road NW. The new Walker branch of the Kent District Library, opening Oct. 19, will add space for children’s programs, meetings, studying, podcasts, esports, and more while easing pressure on the city’s budget.
