Genisys Credit Union and Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Host 9th Annual

Rockin’ Under the Stars with music by Magic Bus and Power Play

Popular local bands, Magic Bus and Power Play Detroit, will headline Rockin’ Under the Stars, presented by Genisys Credit Union and the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, August 3, on the grounds of the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association in Commerce. In its ninth year, the event is expected to draw more than 3,000 visitors, who will be treated to a high energy show which combines classic rock, pop and dance music.

The Michigan-based Magic Bus band will transport concert-goers back to the psychedelic music, peace and love era of the late sixties. Attendees are encouraged to wear their tie-dye shirts, headbands and bell bottoms and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock listening to the Magic Bus. The headliner for the evening is Power Play, a classic rock cover band, which has been voted Best Local / Cover Band for 2015, 2017 and 2018 by WDIV Local 4/Click On Detroit. They have appeared at the Milford Memories festival, and have performed at the Detroit Grand Prix, Livonia Spree, and the Dream Cruise.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Magic Bus will kick-off the evening of entertainment at 5:30 p.m. Power Play Detroit will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. The cost for the event is $5 per person, with free parking and no cost for children ages 12 and under. Those attending should bring lawn chairs or blankets. Dickey's Barbecue Pit, Urban Gyro and Multi-Lakes Conservation Association will provide the food concessions. There will also be beer, wine and soft drinks available for purchase. Coolers and food and beverage carry-in are not permitted. Event participants are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food and personal care products to the show. These items will be donated to Hospitality House Food Pantry in Commerce Township. This event will also include a bigger and better Family Game Area, which will be open from 4:30 to 8:30 and will feature face painting, giant Jenga, giant Connect Four, ladderball and corn hole games.

The event is being presented by Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce member Genisys Credit Union.
