Baker College’s Auburn Hills campus renews Pearson VUE contract to offer test facility for professional, GED certifications
More than 400 tests were administered at Baker College's Auburn Hills campus in 2015.

Baker College’s Auburn Hills campus has renewed its agreement with Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, to provide accessible and secure testing for professional certifications from leading information technology programs and the GED credential.
“Providing a top-notch testing facility for area residents and businesses to become more competitive in the workplace is in line with Baker College’s mission of providing quality higher education and training,” said Peter W. Karsten, Ph.D., CPA, Baker College of Auburn Hills president. “Training is key to continued economic growth. The more highly trained and certified workers we have, the more competitive our businesses and the stronger our communities can become.”
This is the seventh year that the Auburn Hills campus has provided a test facility for Pearson VUE. Last year, more than 400 tests were administered at the Auburn Hills campus.

Karsten said that the study required for certification testing helps professionals stay abreast of new and emerging trends and can lead to career advancement.
Pearson VUE’s advanced system administers exams on behalf of hundreds of businesses, boards and organizations around the globe through the world's largest most secure test center network. Among the entities offering certification testing through Pearson VUE are Cisco Systems, CompTIA, EMC Corporation, HP Inc., Linux Professional Institute, Oracle and VMware Inc.

The State of Michigan authorizes the Baker College test center to provide the GED tests. A Baker College staff member receives annual training to administer the tests.
The test center is open 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Appointments are scheduled through the Pearson VUE website, https://home.pearsonvue.com/test-taker.aspx. Test results are quickly transmitted back, ensuring the candidate’s testing status is promptly updated.
