Beaumont Hosts Events for Patient Services in Royal Oak

During several Mondays this summer, Beaumont Health is offering individuals and businesses the opportunity to network and support important services that help treat and educate people with cancer, cardiac issues and pediatric illnesses.

Four golf tournaments are scheduled throughout Southeast Michigan:

* June 3, Drive for Life Invitational with a golf outing at Oakland Hills Country Club and Card Tournament at Bloomfield Hills Country Club

* June 10, Women’s Health Care Classic at TPC Michigan and Dearborn Country Club

* June 24, Grosse Pointe Classic at the Country Club of Detroit. Golf, Pickleball and Bridge Tournaments

* July 29, Beaumont Children’s Miracle Classic, Detroit Golf Club

Support from fundraising, like golf tournaments, allows the expert teams at Beaumont to improve care for patients and their families during diagnosis and treatment. Whether they need assistance finding their way around the hospital, staying in touch with loved ones, getting to and from treatments or dealing with emotional ups and downs, the generosity of donors helps Beaumont provide programs and services to assist compassionately.

The Drive for Life Invitational golf tournament presented by AIREA and Haworth and card tournament presented by Crestview Cadillac supports oncology patient programs and services at the Walter & Marilyn Wolpin Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak and the Wilson Cancer Resource Center at Beaumont, Troy. This two-venue event offers an enjoyable day for golfers at Oakland Hills Country Club and a competitive bridge and canasta tournament for card players at the Bloomfield Hills Country Club. The events conclude with cocktails and a strolling dinner at Oakland Hills Country Club.

Drs. Harris, Birkhill, Wang, Songe & Assoc., PC. and Karen Wilson Smithbauer host the Women’s Health Care Classic benefitting women’s breast care programs and services at Beaumont hospitals in Dearborn, Taylor, Trenton and Wayne. The event includes women-only golfing at Dearborn County Club, while both men and women golf at TPC Michigan. In addition to golf, participants enjoy breakfast and lunch at each course and cocktails, strolling dinner and an awards program.

The 36th annual Grosse Pointe Classic benefits the renovation of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Beaumont, Grosse Pointe. Cardiac catheterization allows physicians to conduct diagnostic tests and perform corrective procedures including angioplasty; identifying and correcting congenital heart defects; checking the function and viability of heart valves; and implanting cardiac pacemakers. More than 100 participants are expected to enjoy a day on the golf course, or play pickleball or join a Chicago-style bridge tournament, followed by cocktails, a strolling dinner, gifts and prizes.

Beaumont Children’s Miracle Classic presented by Blaze Contracting, Inc. benefits Beaumont Children’s, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Guests will enjoy a day of golf, cocktails, a strolling dinner and a short program featuring a Children’s Miracle Network Miracle Family. Funds raised are used to support the exceptional hospital programs, provide life-saving services, purchase vital pediatric equipment and fund patient scholarships for families unable to afford needed care.
