Ben Peter Life in Stills the beautiful documentary of a story of the relationship of grandson and grandmother

 “Life In Stills,” is an inspiring documentary tells the story of Miriam Weissenstein’s “The Photo House” and beautifully portrays the relationship between the 96-year-old owner and her grandson, Ben. Miriam’s shop is slated for destruction when Ben comes into the picture. He is determined to save the building and its collection of nearly 1 million negatives that document Israel’s birth, beginnings and most notable moments in history.

The Berman and The JCC Lenore Marwil Jewish Film Festival have teamed up to bring Ben Peter back!

Ben Peter is a the manager of Pri-Or Photo House in Tel Aviv, the subject of the film “Life in Stills” He began working with his grandmother, Miriam Weissenstein, in 2005, and gradually learned from her the secrets of this remarkable archive, filled with more than 1 million negatives taken by his grandfather, Rudi.  The images which lay hidden for years, tell the story of the State of Israel from its founding to today.

Each and every month at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts will offer the audience the sounds of the most extraordinary music, theatre and programs for every taste.  Ticket and additional information can be seen at www.theberman.org or by calling the ticket office at 248-661-1900.
