Pick-Up and Deliver (Properly)
A poem to lightly nudge the dog owners of West Bloomfield to take care of their own!

It is April and Spring shows its hand
Flowers blooming
Trees budding

Mowers buzzing
Shovels clunking

Birds Chirping
Fresh dirt fragrance mixed with blooms
Waft through the air
April and Spring are pushing forward
Walks through the neighborhoods and parks
Allows all of us to view the surprise packages
Little blue or green or black or clear bags
Peeking out from rocks and bushes,
Lying by the curb, almost like a flower
Not natural like the contents
Disintegration takes hundreds of years
Those little treasures left by dog owners
Along sidewalks and pathways,
I wonder what type of elf is expected to pick them?
Dog lovers and those that aren’t would rather
Those attractive bags go home with the owners
That bestowed them along the paths well taken.
Or at least dropped in the proper repository
All who enjoy being outside will thank you!
