CJ's Brewing Company Expands Operation

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich.  – In an effort to keep up with heightened customer demand, CJ’s Brewing Company announced it has expanded its brewing operation through the addition of two 15-barrel fermenters. The new equipment will increase production capabilities by nearly 40 percent at its Commerce Township location.

“The extra barrels will bolster our brewing operation and allow for significantly larger brewing capacities,” said CJ’s brewmaster JT Ross. “I look forward to continuing to serve the local community with our hand-crafted, signature CJ’s beers.”

CJ’s Brewing Company taps five flagship beers each week, and offers a selection of three rotating beers including this season’s Summerbrew, a smooth, caramel citrus flavored beer; a full-bodied, dark brown Strong Scotch Ale; and the Commerce Common lager, a blend of sweet malt flavor and northern brewer hops.

“We’ve reached capacity several times in the past few months,” said General Manager Bill Shikwana. “The new installation will create a more seamless operation for our staff and loyal CJ’s guests.”

CJ’s Brewing Company was voted one of the Top Ten Micro Brewpubs in the state by The Michigan Brewer’s Guild in 2014. Best-known for its Detroit-style square pan pizza, other guest favorites include its homemade creamy artichoke dip, gourmet burgers, and the Butter Cake for dessert.
