Clean Energy Forum Thursday October 10th, 6:30-7:30pm - Troy Community Center

I think we can all agree; Michigan should have breathable air and affordable energy. Unfortunately right now, we don’t.  

Michigan’s DTE Energy is one of the most coal-dependent utilities in the country. Their coal-fired power plants emit soot that lead to higher rates of cancer and asthma. On top of that, DTE wants to build a $15 billion nuclear plant that we don’t need and can’t afford. 

It’s time for DTE to invest more in renewable energy, which is cheaper than old and new coal plans and nuclear. It’s time for DTE to stop hurting Michigan Families. It’s time for DTE to clean up its act by investing in cleaner renewable energy like wind and solar.

Speakers include Randy Block, Director of the Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network; Keith Gunter, Co-Chair of the Alliance to Halt Fermi 3; Jim Leidel, Director of the Clean Energy Research Center at Oakland University; and Frank Zaski, a local clean energy advocate.
