Dead Sea Scroll Discovery at 70

In honor of the 70th anniversary of the initial discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the Judean wilderness, the Pine Hill Congregational Church will hold a series of classes on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm beginning July 12, 2016, to determine their significance for understanding early Judaism, formative Christianity, and the way in which Jewish and Christian scriptures are read. Dr. Charles Packer, adjunct professor at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit, will "re-open" the Scrolls for re-discovery during the six week series. There is no charge to attend, but there is a recommended text available for purchase.
