Drugs Found in Suspected Drunken Driving at Selfridge

Police: Methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana found in West Bloomfield Township man's vehicle after he was arrested for drunken driving.

WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI - A West Bloomfield Township man was allegedly drunk and in possession of three types of illegal drugs when he drove up to the main entrance of the Selfridge Air National Guard Base to ask for directions Saturday night, police said.

Marcus Eugene Russell-Taylor was charged with second offense drunken driving and possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana during a video arraignment in 41B District Court Monday.

The Macomb county Sheriff’s Office said security personnel at the base at William Russo Highway and Jefferson Avenue in Harrison Township suspected Russell-Taylor was drunk and notified authorities, The Oakland Press reports.

After failing field sobriety tests, Russell-Taylor was arrested. Police found the drugs during a search of his vehicle.

Russell Taylor’s blood alcohol content was 0.15 percent, according to the report.

He is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $10,000 bond, cash or surety. His next court date is Dec. 28.
