Cosponsored by the Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society, a Library partner

In the years before the Civil War, Michigan residents played a critical role in helping fugitive slaves make their way to freedom. Learn about three Southeast Michigan residences that served as safe stops on the Underground Railroad and the risks facing escaped slaves and those who helped them. Presenters include Bruce McIntyre who will talk about his Orchard Lake house, Hildy Corbett on Beacon Tree and the Spring Hill Farm stop in Shelby Township, and Susie DiPace on the Andrus Octagon House in Washington Township.
