West Bloomfield Firefighters Wade Into the Drink to Save Dog
The dog stranded in the chilly waters of Cass Lake may have become disoriented, but has been reunited with owner.

WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP – A dog stranded in the chilly waters of Cass Lake Wednesday was rescued by West Bloomfield firefighters and Keego Harbor police.
The Oakland Press reports that a Keego Harbor resident called police about 9:50 a.m. after spotting the dog off Willow Beach.
West Bloomfield firefighters Will Porter and Wayne Hukill put on their wetsuits and waded into the lake to retrieve the mixed-breed dog.

“It was just sitting there,” Hukill told the newspaper. “I think it got in the water and got disoriented.”
The dog has been reunited with its owner, who had reported the pooch missing to Oakland County Animal Control.
