Former Elementary School Site Gets Assisted Living Facility

Construction has begun on a $23 million assisted living facility at the site of the former Ealy Elementary School.

From Provision Living: Construction crews have begun land grading and leveling at the site of the former Ealy Elementary School to prepare for construction of a new $23 million upscale assisted living and memory care community. Provision Living, a St. Louis-based owner and operator of the community, says construction of Provision Living at West Bloomfield will officially begin in late August after crews finalize site work. Provision Living purchased the land in March 2015 from the West Bloomfield School District. It expects to have its senior living community open in late 2018

The two-story, 90,000-square-foot senior living community will offer 102 assisted living and memory care apartments with studio, one-bedroom and two bedroom unit options. Plans call for an upscale hospitality and residential atmosphere with best-in-class amenities, such as a beauty salon, exercise room, therapy space, movie theater, chapel, large common spaces, and two elegant dining rooms. The community’s exterior design will be tailored to blend with the architecture of West Bloomfield and will feature landscaped courtyards, patios and walkways for residents to enjoy.

Dave Baylis, principal of Provision Living, said, “Provision Living at West Bloomfield will be unlike any other senior living option in this area in terms of its service and amenities. We believe it will be a great addition to the surrounding neighborhood and to the community at large as it helps to fill a considerable need in this area for senior housing. It has always been our mission to be the best place a senior has ever lived, and we look forward to the opportunity to deliver on that promise in West Bloomfield.”
