Beaumont will host a free car seat safety check at the Detroit Zoo on Friday, October 12. The event is part of Beaumont’s sponsorship of the Detroit Zoo’s annual Zoo Boo activities.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Instructors will inspect car seats in family vehicles. Each seat will be checked for proper installation and child harnessing. The team will be located at the Zoo’s main entrance off Woodward Avenue, from 3 – 6 p.m. There is no charge for the inspection and participants do not have to purchase a ticket to the Zoo.

Michigan law requires children younger than four to ride in a car seat in the rear seat of the vehicle and children must be properly buckled in a car seat or booster seat until they are eight years old or four-feet-nine-inches tall.
