InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit Appoints Program Director

Wendy Miller Gamer is named program director at InterFaith Leadership Council of Metro Detroit

Wendy Miller Gamer has been appointed program director of the InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit (IFLC). Gamer will administer key IFLC educational programs including its Religious Diversity Journeys for 7th grade students and Exploring Our Religious Landscapes for adults. Each of these programs offers an immersive experience in major religions through visits to local congregations, meetings with their clergy and sharing such traditions as special food and rituals. In addition, she will help coordinate the interfaith World Sabbath of Religious Reconciliation, IFLC’s annual awards dinner, as well as other organizational activities.

Gamer, a Huntington Woods resident, has an extensive background in nonprofit and educational program management as well as marketing. Most recently she was a writer for K2M Creative Media in Southfield, specializing in interactive marketing and social media. Previously she was a program coordinator for CJE: Senior Life in Chicago, directing its Jewish Learning Institute, and an engagement consultant for the Community Foundation for Jewish Education in Skokie, Illinois.

Gamer is a graduate of Clark University in Massachusetts. In addition, she holds a master of sciences degree in social work from Columbia University and a master of arts in contemporary American Jewish sociology from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York.
