State of the Lakes Address & Annual Membership Luncheon

Each year, the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce has invited Lakes Area government officials to provide brief updates on their community at the Annual Membership Luncheon & State of the Lakes Address. This year's State of the Lakes address will be held on Tuesday, March 26, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Edgewood Country Club in Commerce Township. The event will include informal networking with elected officials from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the luncheon, presentations by each speaker and a question and answer session from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce members, as well as non-member businesses and the general public, are invited to attend. Luncheon reservations are $25 per person and must be made by March 22 by calling the Chamber at 248-624-2826.

The State of the Lakes Address, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., provides insightful "insider" information for those living in, working in, wondering about, and wanting to get ahead in West Oakland County. This address is an opportunity to hear first-hand what is happening in the area and what is planned for the future. It also provides an opportunity to talk with local government officials about issues that affect the quality of life and the operations of businesses in the area.

- David Scott, Commerce Township Supervisor
- Linda Ackley, Walled Lake Mayor
- Gary Wall, Waterford Township Supervisor
- Rik Kowall, White Lake Supervisor
- Steven Brown, Wixom City Manager
- Brian Nedrow, Wolverine Lake Council President
During the open networking, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the following elected officials will also be available for informal discussions:
- State Senator Jim Runestad
- Representative Ryan Berman
- Representative Matt Maddock
- Oakland County Commissioner Phil Weipert
The event is sponsored by Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce members Consumers Energy, DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, Family Funeral Care and Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union. The Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, with offices in Walled Lake, has served the communities of Commerce Township, Union Lake, Walled Lake, Waterford, White Lake, Wixom and Wolverine Lake since 1950.
