It has been reported that DTE coal plants have caused hundreds of deaths and hospital emergency room visits in recent years, with the greatest impact to children and senior citizens.
The cost per kilowatt-hour of renewable energy has dropped to the point where it is competitive with fossil fuels and, in some cases, even less expensive. More than 75 percent of DTE’s energy comes from coal. It’s time to move beyond coal to renewable energy.
