Metro Detroit home selling questions - Should I install granite

This is a fairly common question for me.  Should I install granite in my home before I sell it?  I absolutely believe based on my wide experience with home buyers is that you should have granite in your home is priced over $150,000.  Metro Detroit Home buyers expect homes to have it.  Women home buyers want the "in" thing and granite is in.  So you should install granite if your cabinets are in good to excellent shape and if you want to get top dollar for your home.

The second part of the question that immediately follows the first question is......"Is it worth it, will I get my money back".  I have learned from looking at sold home that there is a wide variance sometimes between updated and non updated homes.  Recently I noticed a $10,000 difference between a home that had granite and homes that did not.

To put granite in an average sized kitchen runs between $2500 and $3500 depending on who puts it in.  So based on my experience I feel you will get your money back and more.  I also believe it helps to speed up the sale of the home.
