Ministrelli Women's Heart Center Benefit

Elegant lunch and fashion show

Heart to Heart GLAMLunch is a gathering of mothers, sisters, daughters and best friends for a luncheon and fashion event to help raise awareness about the unique characteristics of cardiovascular disease in women. From 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, GLAMLunch will feature an elegant luncheon and market-style fashion show highlighting the latest designs from local retailers at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. Proceeds from the event will benefit Beaumont’s Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center.

“We know that early detection, swift treatment and long-term prevention, are key to defeating the number one killer of women - heart disease,” said Pam Marcovitz, M.D., Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center director. “Almost one out of every three women will die of heart disease. At the center, our expert teams and programs help women live healthy lives and beat these odds. The GLAMunch is an opportunity to raise awareness and donations that will help keep this important work moving forward.”

Created with the generous philanthropy of J. Peter and Florine Ministrelli, the Ministrelli Women's Heart Center at Beaumont, Royal Oak is the first center in Michigan dedicated to the detection, prevention and treatment of heart disease in women and screens and treats 4,000 women annually. The center opened in 2002 and is celebrating its 15th year.
