Need To Know: Dates for 2011-12 School Year

Want to schedule a kid's dentist appointment or plan a family vacation around spring break next year? Get out your calendar because we have the dates you've been looking for.

Starting Sept. 6, school is back in session for the students in the It's never too early to begin planning, so here are the dates you need to know for the 2011-12 school year.

September

  • Sept. 7: First day of school for students (full day)
  • Sept. 14: Late start
  • Sept. 21: Late start
  • Sept. 29: Non-Membership Day (no school, no work day for teachers)
  • Sept. 30: Non-Membership Day (no school, no work day for teachers)

October

  • Oct. 26: Late start

November

  • Nov. 2: Late start
  • Nov. 8: Middle school conferences (late start for students)
  • Nov. 9: High school conference (no school at Abbott, OLMS, WBHS - late start for other students)
  • Nov. 10: 2-8 p.m., parent teacher conferences
  • Nov. 16: Late start
  • Nov. 23-25: Thanksgiving break

December

  • Dec. 7: Elementary school conferences (no elementary classes - late start for others)
  • Dec. 8: 2-8 p.m., parent teacher conferences
  • Dec. 19-Jan. 2: Winter break

January

  • Jan. 4: Late start
  • Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Day, no school
  • Jan. 18: Late start
  • Jan. 27: Records day (attendance optional for teachers)

February

  • Feb. 1: Late start
  • Feb. 15: Late start
  • Feb. 29: Late start

March

  • March 6: High school juniors and seniors MME testing — no school for all others
  • March 14: Late start
  • March 28: Late start

April

  • April 2-6: Spring break
  • April 11: Late start
  • April 28: Late start

May

  • May 2: Late start
  • May 16: Late start
  • May 28: Memorial Day recess
  • May 30: Late start

June

  • June 14: Last day for students (A.M. attendance only)
