OLHSA and Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic hold Family Walk for healthy eating, living and community

OLHSA and GBCHC Walk aimed promoting healthy eating, living and community

OLHSA, a Community Action Agency, and the Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic (GBCHC) are hosting a family walk in Pontiac on June 6, 2015. The walk is being held to promote healthy eating, living and a healthy community and to raise funds for the nonprofit services of OLHSA and GBCHC.

“Keeping our community healthy is of the utmost importance,” said Pam Haratsis, executive director for the Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic. “We invite everyone to join us for a day of exercise and fun in Pontiac.”

Special guests Glenda and Diana Lewis from WXYZ will be in attendance to rally the crowd. The walk will begin with registration at 9 a.m. in Lot 9 near the Pontiac Phoenix Center and across from the Crofoot Ballroom. Walkers will follow a route to the new Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic located on Woodward Avenue. There will be local vendors, entertainment and free t-shirts will be given to the first 200 people registered.

“This inaugural walk with the Gary Burnstein clinic aligns perfectly with OLHSA’s desire to support good health among Pontiac residents,” said Ron Borngesser, OLHSA CEO. “We hope to see many families enjoying a summer day with us, joining together for the betterment of our community.”

100 percent of proceeds will go back into the community through OLHSA and GBCHC. The cost for registration is $10 for individuals and $25 for families. Sponsorships are also available. For more information about the event please visit www.crowdrise.com/BurnsteinOlhsawalk.

The GBCHC provides free healthcare services to the uninsured and underinsured of Oakland County.
