Panel OKs MI Gov. Rick Snyder Recall Petition Over Flint Water Crisis
The Michigan Board of State Canvassers approved recall petition against Gov. Rick Snyder for his handling of Flint water crisis.

LANSING, MI – A state panel has approved a recall petition against Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder over his handling of the Flint water crisis.
The Board of State Canvassers, which previously turned down petitions due to lack of clarity or technical or factual problems, approved the petition submitted by the Rev. Paul Bullock. the Detroit Free Press reports.

Bullock, a Detroit activist, has 60 days to collect the 790,000 valid voter signatures required to put the recall question on the November general election ballot.
“That’s part of the democratic process,” Snyder said when told about the recall petition, one of 29 that have been filed against Snyder.

Most related to his handling of the public health catastrophe in Flint, where water was switched from Lake Huron to the Flint River in a cost-saving measure when the city was under the control of a Snyder-appointed emergency manager.
