A man impersonating a sheriff’s deputy pulled over a West Bloomfield driver last week in Highland Township and gave the 23-year-old man a “warning,” according to a report on the Local Stew website.
The phony deputy stopped the driver Saturday night as he was traveling southbound on Duck Lake Road, near Livingston Road, the report stated. During the stop, the impersonator asked the driver for his license and registration before giving the man a warning and letting him go, the report added.

According to the driver, the imposter was driving an older, dark-colder Ford Crown Victoria with a blue strobe light mounted on the inside visor but no law enforcement markings on the outside, the report stated. The driver also said the fake peace officer was wearing all black with a black baseball cap that had “Sheriff” written on it in white letters, the report added.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about this bogus law enforcement official to contact the department.
