The Lake Improvement Association (LIA) was a summer cottage community started by Eastern European Jewish Immigrant families looking for a quiet place to spend the summers away from the city. Each member had an unobstructed view of the lake, and a similarly sized lot to bring out or build a cottage on. This year they celebrate their 75th anniversary. Come learn more about the LIA’s history at our August Open House. Also featured will be permanent exhibits interpreting local area history and culture. Hands-on activities. No charge.
