Police Officer Injured in Rollover Accident

Police said a motorist crossed the center line and struck a Waterford Township police officer's car head-on.


A Waterford Township police officer sustained minor injuries in a rollover accident around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

West Bloomfield Township police were investigating the accident, which occurred on Cooley Lake Road, WXYZ-TV reports.

According to reports, a 20-year-old driver from Sterling Heights crossed the center line and struck the officer’s vehicle head-on.

The officer, who has been with the Waterfor Police Department for more than 18 years, was released from the hospital Thursday night.

The driver of the other vehicle also sustained minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
