Students Bomb Twitter with #BeforeWBCloses

The easy tweet would have been that Hell would freeze over before West Bloomfield Schools closed for cold weather.

But Hell, a town in Michigan about an hour’s drive from West Bloomfield Township, did freeze over, as did much of The Mitten as a blast of cold Canadian air pushed wind chill values to dangerous levels.

Still, West Bloomfield schools were in session Thursday and students wanting a day off took to Twitter to express themselves. As a result, the #BeforeWBCloses hashtag was trending.

Abby Siegal may have summarized school officials’ sentiments with her tweet:

“West Bloomfield students will stop tweeting like they’re the only ones that have school #BeforeWBCloses.”
