The threat came a day after a gunman opened fire in Oregon’s Umpqua Community College classroom, killing nine people and wounding seven others before killing himself after exchanging gunfire with authorities.

Several students were interviewed, and the school liaison deputy contacted the 16-year-old juvenile’s parents and arranged for his parents to bring him to the Commerce Township substation for an interview, which occurred with his parents’ permission.
