Walled Lake High Schools Score Among Nation's Top 3.5 Percent
The annual Newsweek ranking of the top 2,000 U.S. high schools includes all three in Walled Lake.

All three Walled Lake high schools made the Newsweek best 2,000 public high schools in the nation—those that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads.
Of the 37,000 high schools in the U.S., Newsweek ranks the top 2,000.
Walled Lake Central High School ranked 341, Walled Lake Northern High School ranked 656, and Walled Lake Western High School ranked 1285. Based on the criteria, all three Walled Lake high schools rank in the top 3.5% of all high schools in the country.

The list is based on six components: graduation rate (25 percent), college acceptance rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course (5 percent).
“Annually, the Newsweek list affirms that our high schools are offering the appropriate curriculum that challenges students and gives them an advantage in being successful in the future," Kenneth Gutman, Walled Lake Consolidated Schools Superintendent, said.
