West Bloomfield High Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Tara Heald, Erin Finn, Aerielle Pendleton and Brandon Cole talk about their post-secondary plans at a Monday press conference.

At a press conference Monday, four West Bloomfield athletes formally announced where they'll pursue their respective sports after graduation.

Coach Jeremy Denha described Lakers basketball stand-out Brandon Cole with one word: consistency.

"He was always giving his best effort," Denha said of the senior, who started playing basketball in third grade. "I think Brandon's going to have a wonderful career at University of Michigan-Dearborn."

During his senior year, Cole was team captain and played center. He was named to the 2012-2013 Oakland Activities Association All-Association honor team, among other honors.

Varsity volleyball coach Julian Wargo pointed to the outstanding record posted by senior Tara Heald, who is headed to the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, IN. "Tara demonstrates her dedication to being the best volleyball player she can be," Wargo said, adding that she is an "outstanding and involved student".
