West Bloomfield High School DECA Breaks District Record

West Bloomfield High School Students Break District Conference Records

White Lake, Michigan – Saturday January 13, 2018
Over 100 West Bloomfield High School DECA members traveled to Lakeland High School to compete in the DECA District VI Competition. This was a one day leadership and business competition. West Bloomfield walked away with 62 medals and 35 students qualifying for the State Career Development Conference, March 9th-11th in Detroit. These students will join other members of their chapter, marking a record breaking 104 students representing WBHS at the State Conference.

Approximately 600 high school students from around the district competed in different events and categories, ranging from Sports and Entertainment Marketing to Finance. We are proud to acknowledge the winners (listed below) that qualified in one or more categories during this event.

About West Bloomfield High School DECA
The West Bloomfield Chapter consists of students enrolled in Growing Your Business I & II, Marketing, Sports Marketing, Advanced Marketing and Advanced Placement Macro and Microeconomics. DECA, which is recognized around the world, prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in four fields of business: marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Our DECA chapter integrates classroom instruction, applied learning, business c0nnections, and promotes competition. These experiences will prepare the next generation to be academically successful, community oriented, professionally responsible, and experienced leaders.
