Southfield, Michigan – Friday, December 14, 2018
More than 115 members of the West Bloomfield High School DECA chapter made a strong showing at the Michigan District 6 conference held December 14 at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield. West Bloomfield walked away with 53 medals and 31 students qualifying for the State Career Development Conference, March 8th-10th in Detroit, Michigan. These students will join other members of the high school chapter competing in 10-20 page research papers to make a total of 73 students to represent WBHS at the State Career Development Conference in March.
On Friday, approximately 600 high school students from around the district competed in different events and categories, ranging from Sports and Entertainment Marketing to Finance. Students completed a test on their chosen area and performed a role play scenario with either 10 or 30 minutes preparation time which was performed in front of a local business member. The test and role play scores were combined to choose the overall finalists. We are proud to acknowledge the winners (listed below) that qualified in one or more categories during this competition.
