West Bloomfield High School DECA, "Kicking" Cancer

West Bloomfield Township, MI – October 12, 2017. West Bloomfield High School seniors Annetta Lekas, Ellie Wineman and Nick O’Shea are working to help cure childhood cancer. Together they designed a $10 t-shirt being sold around the district to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Students will donate the t-shirt proceeds along with money raised from lemonade stands held around the district. The t-shirt will also serve as admission to the October 20th Varsity football game at the high school. An ambassador from ALSF will be in attendance at the game.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a national childhood cancer foundation dedicated to raising funds for research into new treatments and cures for all children battling cancer. The WBHS students chose to fundraise for this organization as part of their 2017-2018 DECA Community Service Research Paper. This is a chapter project that provides an opportunity for chapter members to develop a better understanding of the role civic activities have in society, to make a contribution to a charity, and to learn and apply the principles of marketing and project management skills.
T-shirts can be preordered by contacting julie.zalla@wbsd.org or calling 248.865.6730.
