Spring and summer is the hottest time to sell your West Bloomfield home. If you are thinking about selling your home then it is that time to start getting ready to prepare your home. So where do you start? One of the first projects you should do is de-clutter. I know you love your belongings and little collections, but now is the time to start putting them away. Think of it as pre-packing. You are moving right? So what does it matter whether your beloved belongings are out for a couple of months. It is best that everything that will distract home buyers is out of sight.

Put away your hunting trophies, your clown, sports, or plate collection. Yes even your love for U of M will turn off a MSU fan. They are not going to buy your home. I have seen Michigan home buyers do that. We want the buyers to be looking at your home not your collections, or your photos. Our goal is to make your home look like a model home. We want it to appear spacious and uncluttered. Think of buyers as a 5 foot deep pool. If you turn off West Bloomfield home buyers because of animal trophy or because of your religious shrine that pool of home buyers may only be 2' deep now. So don't be foolish and keep the collections out.

If your home is full of furniture then some pieces may need to be stored. Put them in the basement or in a POD. Openness is the key to making your home and rooms appear larger.
