Where to look - Home buyer tips

Here are some Michigan first time home buyer tips. My goal is to help you chose the right home that fits you and your family. Russ Ravary

There are many things to consider when buying a home. If you ask anybody they will tell you that Location, Location, Location is a very important thing to consider. What I tell my clients is to find a home that will appreciate in the long run you want to think about these items:

1.) Crime

2.) Schools

3.) Prestige of the city

Home buyers want to live in safe cities. It is just that simple. You want to be able to walk around and feel safe. You do not want to be in fear of going to the gas station and getting carjacked. You want your children to be safe. The second driving factor in how a communities home will appreciate is schools. How good are the schools. Many home buyers know which schools are the best. Michigan relocation home buyers research it and look in those cities. They are not going to pick cities like Inkster or Pontiac with failing schools. They will be looking at cities like West Bloomfield, Grosse Pointe, Northville, or Troy.

Lastly the prestige of cities drive up values and attract home buyers. It is the same way in any metropolitan area. It is a simple fact that home buyers want to buy in the best cities they can afford. These three factors will usually determine whether a home goes up in value. A community that is going down because of crime and poor schools is not going to have home values that a going up fast. They may even go down in value over time.

However there are many other factors that determine where you want to live. Of course how much money you have. You may want to live in Birmingham, but may only be able to live in Sterling Heights. Just buy in the best city you can afford. Many buyers buy homes in cities that they are from or a used to. Areas where family and friend s are at. Sometime drive times influence where you live.
