'You Can't Take It With You' Plays Broadway - and West Bloomfield

Metro residents don't have to travel to New York to see this hilarious new comedy, which continues through Saturday.

“You Can’t Take It With You,” the hilarious Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy from Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, opens Thursday at the West Bloomfield High School Auditorium.

Currently playing on Broadway, it’s the story of Alice Sycamore, who is part of an upbeat, wacky family that collects snakes, makes candy, and includes an aspiring ballet dancer, author and a few skyrocket makers.

When the youngest daughter brings her fiancé and his buttoned up parents, the Kirbys, over for dinner, that’s when the real fireworks start to fly.
