• Where to celebrate Halloween in Metro Detroit (axios.com) — Westland residents have two major haunted attractions close to home this Halloween: the multi-experience Hush complex and the massive Eloise Asylum haunt in the former psychiatric hospital. Both are featured among Metro Detroit’s top spooky-season destinations, alongside pumpkin patches, haunted hayrides, ghost tours, and classic horror movie screenings across the region.
   

• South Lyon is the latest local community to cover its Flock cameras (audacy.com) — Westland is among several Metro Detroit communities that have already terminated their contracts with Flock Safety license plate cameras, as South Lyon now covers its own devices amid privacy concerns. • Dundee police issue alert after string of thefts from unlocked vehicles, stolen cars (13abc.com) — Vehicle thefts in Dundee are now tied to Westland after two stolen cars were recovered in the Westland area, and police believe a larger multi-city crime ring may be involved. Residents across the region, including Westland, are urged to lock vehicles, remove valuables, improve outdoor lighting, and promptly report suspicious activity as state police may join the ongoing investigation.
