Baker College of Flint Annual Car, Motorcycle Show to be May 17
The Baker College of Flint Car and Motorcycle Show is set for Sunday, May 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 1717 S. Dort Highway, Flint.

The sixth annual Baker College of Flint Car and Motorcycle Show is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enthusiasts are invited to showcase their cars and motorcycles for other aficionados, as well as the general public, at Baker Collegeβs Center for Transportation Technology (CTT), 1717 S. Dort Highway, Flint.
βWe encourage those who wish to participate to mark their calendars for this yearβs event,β said Phillip Whitmer, Baker College of Flint dean of transportation technology. βItβs always great to bring together area car and motorcycle enthusiasts to show off their hard work, as well as exhibit the CTT and the work our students have accomplished in their classes.β
There is no cost to enter cars or motorcycles in the show, and pre-registration is not necessary. There is no charge for vendors to have a booth at the event, however they must pre-register. The event is free to the general public.

In previous years, more than 350 cars and motorcycles have been displayed, including: a 1911 Whiting, a 1923 T Bucket, a 1940 Ford coupe, a 1942 Harley Davidson and a 2013 Mustang and 2014 Hyundai upgraded and renovated by Baker College of Flint students. Clubs, such as the Northeastern Michigan Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club, have brought multiple cars to previous events.
For the 2015 event, Baker College will provide awards for the top 25 cars, top 10 motorcycles, Presidentβs Choice, Deanβs Choice and Best of Show.

New this year is a trophy for the top vehicleβa car or motorcycleβexhibited by a person aged 18 years or younger. Whitmer said that this award will encourage students in automotive programs at area skill centers and high schools and younger adults in general to show off their work.
The public is invited to enjoy the cars and motorcycles, music, vendors, refreshments and on-going tours of the CTT facility at this free event.
