Baker College’s Flint campus offers airbrush painting classes to public; start Jan. 16
Four-session airbrush painting classes begin Jan. 16. They are open to the public and designed to enhance employability.

FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Baker College’s Corporate Services in Flint is offering three levels of airbrush painting classes presented by locally renowned airbrush artist Brian Ashley. The classes are non-credit and open to the public age 16 and older.
The Learn to Airbrush classes cover airbrush artistry from the basics through advanced. Each class consists of four four-hour sessions, Monday and Wednesday evenings for two weeks. Sessions will be held in the auto body lab at the Center for Transportation Technology (CTT), 1717 S. Dort Highway, Flint.
The classes must be taken in sequential order. The first level class begins Jan. 16.

Ashley has 32 years of airbrush painting experience and is a member of the CTT faculty for the autobody technician certificate and associate degree programs.
“This is a great opportunity for artists to enhance their skills and learn from a well-known expert in the field,” Wen Hemingway, MBA, CTP, Baker College of Flint president. “Airbrush artists are sought after in automotive and other industries. Gaining this skill can enhance job prospects as well as increase the value to an employer for those already employed.”

Classes will offer a hands-on approach and will cover:
- Surface preparation.
- Proper paint mixing.
- Paint application and techniques.
- Making templates and shields.
- Using transfer tape and patterns.
- Projecting images onto a surface.
- Trouble shooting.
The cost for each level is $299. The registration deadline is three days before the start of each class. Start dates are Jan. 16 for level 1, Jan. 30 for level 2, and Feb. 13 for level 3.
