Flowers of the Lakes Celebrates Ribbon Cutting With Highland-White Lake Business Association

Residents and members of the Highland-White Lake Business Association gather at the new Flowers of the Lake location Wednesday to celebrate the store's opening.

It was standing room only inside the new location Wednesday morning as residents and members of the local business association gathered for the store's ribbon cutting ceremony.

Flowers of the Lakes moved into the new location, across from Village Lakes Plaza at 10790 Highland Road, in early June. Owner Orv Borg, who's been in the flower business for 23 years, said the response has been overwhelming.

"We've had a really positive response to the new location," Borg said. "People have been coming in and telling us how much they love it."

Borg said the building is in the perfect location now, on the right side of the road for those on their way home. According to Borg most people buy flowers on their way home from work.

In addition to the new building, the location provides more parking for customers.
