It’s Thursday and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Don't worry: Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our picks for this weekend:

Why go: Knit or crochet "Magic Hug Squares." The Huron Valley Optimists will wrap them around Beanie Babies and distribute them to needy children at shelters and hospitals. All skill levels welcome, including beginners! Bring #10 knitting needles or an H, I or K crochet hook. Yarn and instructions will be provided.

Pricing: Free, but the library requests you register by calling 248-698-4942, ext. 2.

Where/when: , White Lake; noon-2 p.m. Saturday.

Why go: The Friends of Highland Recreation Area β€œreveal” of their winter work at the Haven Hill Gate House will be the highlight of the event. Other items of interest will be on display for visitors to see. Come out for a welcoming speech and casual refreshments, and stay for a spring day in the park.

3. APOLLO FAMILY FUN FEST

Where/when: Apollo Child Care Center, 2029 N. Milford Rd., Highland; 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Why go: This free event for families highlights the Month of the Young Child. The program will feature several exciting activities for children. The activities will take on a carnival theme and include a bug bounce house, pizza and ice cream.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Brighton Center for the Performing Arts, 7878 Brighton Rd., Brighton; Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: High school musicals rarely disappoint. And the Brighton High School performers plan to prove it!

Pricing: $15.

Where/when: Kensington Metropark, 2240 W. Buno Rd., Milford; 9 a.m. Sunday.

Why go: The March for Babies Walk supports programs to help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies as well as research to find answers to the problems threatening babies.
