The Fall sports season is off to a big start. Boys and girls cross country, girls swimming and diving, and boys tennis have started with early morning practices. Boys soccer, girls volleyball and girls golf got rolling with afternoon practices. The Lakeland football team is also busy with practice, looking to improve on last year's 5-4 record.

Milford United Methodist Church, 1200 Atlantic St. next to the Milford Post Office, will be sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive Friday, June 26 from 11 am to 5 pm.
The Blood Drive supports The Red Cross which currently considers the need for blood donations to be "Critical". The MUMC blood drive will accept whole blood donations of all blood types. Whole blood is used for a wide range of patients, from trauma victims to those undergoing surgery&nbsp;
In addition, Power Red donations are also being accepted, but can&nbsp;only be made by donors who have O positive, O negative, A negative and B negative blood types. A Power Red donation collects a concentrated dose of red blood cells while returning plasma and platelets to the donor.&nbsp;These blood types are especially valuable for emergency and trauma care.As a token of appreciation, each donor will receive an e-gift card for $15 to a merchant of their choice plus the opportunity to win a $7500 prize.To donate blood, sign up using the Red Cross Donor App, call 1-800-Redcross, or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
