Viewfinder: Lakeland Golfers Compete at Regionals

Eagles finish seventh overall.

The Lakeland golf team competed Thursday at the regional tournament at Lyon Oaks. The Eagles team score was 322 which was good for seventh place in a very competitive 12 team field. 

Freshman Jake Kneen shot an outstanding five over 77 in the tournament for the Eagles followed by fellow freshman Alex Kleckner with an 80. 

Kneen missed qualifying the for the state finals by one shot.

In his last match for Lakeland, senior Ty Bouwens shot an 82. Justin Pahl shot 83 while Joey Lepowski carded a 86 for the Eagles. 

Coach Hugh Felt said he was very pleased with the great effort by Lakeland in a field that included some of the best teams in Oakland County.

Birmingham Brother Rice won the regional tournament with a score of 293.
