How to get involved (bnd.com) — A longtime Williamston resident, 78-year-old volunteer driver Mike Nestell, is helping seriously ill children and expectant mothers get to medical appointments through The Davies Project, which urgently needs more drivers. The Lansing-based nonprofit reimburses mileage, offers flexible scheduling, and provides training, including car-seat safety and cultural competency. Residents from Williamston and nearby areas can sign up now or support the group's November 14 fundraising gala.
