BASF Plants 4 Trees at Bishop Park for Earth Day

Officials from BASF spent Monday afternoon helping to plant four Cleveland Pear trees in to .
"Celebrating Earth Day to us is an important part of our future," said Greg Pflum, vice president and general manager, BASF Midwest Hub. "BASF is focused on creating chemistry for our sustainable future. And we certainly also see the environment as a key and important component for us. So we are happy to be here for the first time ever to plant trees in Bishop Park. …. We see this as investing in the places where we do business and the places where we live."
With shovels in hand, he and three other BASF executives–Mark Pellow, operational excellence manager; Fred Delisle, facility service manager; and Kara Sparks, environmental, health and safety hub manager–dug one of the holes for a tree to be planted.

Workers from DeBacker Landscape of Trenton were on hand to finish the project.
Those who attended the ceremony were given packets of flower seeds to take home and plant.

“Planting trees in celebration of Earth Day represents our commitment to providing a safe, healthy and sustainable environment for all who live and visit our wonderful city," Pflum said.
