Bites Nearby: Pancho's II Mexican Restaurant

Each week, Wyandotte Patch editors and readers will pick a great restaurant either in town or nearby whose cuisine is considered to reign supreme.

Here’s this week’s choice:

Greatest Dish Ever: The chimichanga dinner ($7.95) offers two delicious, deep-fried tortillas stuffed with a choice of chicken or beef. Each one is covered in sour cream, guacamole, lettuce and tomatoes.

Don't Miss: Combination Dinner #1 ($8.25) is a great choice and value for those who can’t decide on just one menu item. Diners receive a taco, burrito, tostada and enchilada all in the same meal.

Overview:  A wide variety of Mexican items are served up fast, hot and all under $10. The restaurant can fill up quick, especially during lunch and dinner hours. Customers not wanting to dine in can pick from a full carryout menu.

Decor: The pink, red and green building has an authentic Mexican look and feel. The dining area is small, but tables are large enough to accommodate families or small groups.

The Drinks: Coke products are the standard beverages at Pancho’s. Jarritos, a popular Mexican soft drink, also can be ordered.

Appetizers: Chips and salsa (mild and hot) are brought to every table free of charge. An appetizer menu includes botanas ($7.25-$9.25) and a taco salad ($6.95).

Entrees: Menu items can be ordered a la carte, or with beans and rice added to make it a dinner. The quesadilla dinner ($7.95) or tamale dinner ($6.50) are two of the best values. Fajita dinners ($9.25) come with a choice chicken, beef or shrimp filling. The steak a la Mexicana ($8.95) consists of seasoned strips of sirloin and is one of a variety of steak options.

Service: The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Food is prepared very quickly and served hot.
