Great Escape: Wyandotte Fire Station Open House
Visit the downtown station for an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast and fun activities on Sunday.
story - This week’s escape is fit for the whole family. Sunday is the annual open house. Wyandotte firefighters and the Wyandotte Exchange Club join together every October to mark the start of fire safety week.
Bring an empty stomach and fill up on the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast that includes pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange drink. Breakfast is $4 for adults and $2 for children. Children who complete a coloring sheet receive breakfast for free.
Visitors are able to explore the station and vehicles, as well as get on-the-job training of learning how to squirt water from a fire hose. Children also will receive a free fire safety pack that includes coloring books and a firefighter badge sticker. Sparky the Firedog may even make an appearance.

Take the whole family down and get an escape from making breakfast–and maybe lunch if they eat enough.
The pancake breakfast takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at fire station No. 1 on the corner of Maple and Third streets. Proceeds from the event benefit local charities.
