Now,
I won’t write about Estey,

but you can learn more about The Estey Organ Company here.
Anyhow, here’s the story
about how The Great Guillermo
(yes, I name my instruments)
moved into The Little Piano House.
I was off to pay my muni bill when I spotted a rummage sale.
I saw an organ similar to Guillermo at this rummage sale.
When I asked about it
I was told that it wasn’t for sale.
That made me sad and mad.
But through the contacts at this rummage sale
I was put in touch with someone
who had Guillermo.
I made a phone call.
I went to go visit Guillermo.
Poor little guy was in an attic.
Can you believe it?
This antique Estey organ
was here in Wyandotte all along
hibernating in an attic!
It was love at first sight!
I brought him home
and have been enjoying him ever since!
I haven’t had the chance to look up serial number and info,
but I’m gonna guess he is from the 1940s, may 1950s.
I’ll keep Patch readers posted when I learn more.
He’s in the style of the old convent organs,
small, easy to move, but a powerful sound.
I’m pretty sure Guillermo was in a convent
before he ended up in the attic where I found him.
He’s of the type of organs
that one must pump to make the music!
Guillermo is now roommates
with Andrea, The Piano.
You can see both of them in the photo.
And just as an FYI,
Andrea The Piano
now has her own blog and her own twitter!
Weather permitting,
you’ll get to hear Guillermo on Halloween.
I’m gonna put him on the front porch of the main house
(not the Little Piano House)
and play creepy music to entertain the trick or treaters.
Maybe, Chopin’s Funeral March
or a Bach’s Tocatta.
So,
if you hear organ music on Elm Street near the tennis court,
you’ll know Guillermo
is out of hibernation and ready for music!
