Last Chance: Court Amnesty Program Ends Monday

The 27th District Court is offering a break for people who owe outstanding fines and court costs.

The monthlong amnesty program at the comes to a close Monday.

The court is offering a break for people with outstanding tickets or misdemeanor warrants.

Traffic tickets paid in full will have the default fee and the 20 percent late fee waived. This can save a person up to half of the total fines and court costs previously owed.

People with outstanding warrants for misdemeanors will be allowed to post a cash bond for half of the original bond set by the judge. Once the bond is posted, a court date will be set. 

Those who are eligible for the program can come to the court and handle it directly with one of the cashiers. The court is open until 4 p.m. Monday.
