Should a Woman Be President? NO....

NOT IF THEY ARE ELECTED SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE A WOMAN.

We are almost 18 months away from our next election and I’m already sick of hearing about it every day on the news, but what makes me even sicker is when women encourage us and want us to vote for a female just because they are a female – talk about being “sexist”. Whatever happened to judging a person by the content of their character, and that has nothing to do with what sex you are?

It is a sad commentary that I feel it necessary to state that despite the words politicians and candidates say (forget the words and hugging of babies or “catchy” phrases) – look at their record BEFORE they decided to run for office or WHILE they were in an office of a different level. What committees were they on and how did they vote if they held a prior office? What were their accomplishments and/or failures? What organizations or agendas do they really believe in and work towards? Have they shown integrity and trustworthiness? Are their words in line with their prior actions or are they all new words (a new position) because they want to win more votes? They seem to like to say when they flip/flop they have “evolved” – really? How convenient! Does the content of their character show that they are a person who not only will “talk the talk, but walk the walk”? Perhaps I should not have said the previous comment because honesty can live up to those words – but so can dishonesty if it is guided by a particular agenda!

The great Martin Luther King, Jr. once said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Doesn’t it go without saying that this same way of thinking should continue on without personal biases, like judging a person because they are male vs. female, young vs. old, black vs white, belong to one political party vs. the other (the difference here is if you believe in the agenda itself, that is different than just voting because it is a specific party or gender).

If you are going to go to the poles to vote then you have a responsibility to do your homework and to know who you are voting for, what they stand for based upon their prior experience and record, and anything less is an insult and slap in the face to every other American who wants the smartest, most ethical, honest, talented candidate that stands for all Americans, not just a particular group of Americans, and who is loyal and dedicated to this country that we call HOME. We want a Commander-in-Chief who puts this country, its people, best interest, and its security first and will turn their back on those who prefer money and power over the people, and will not be bought off by large corporations, favors, and lobbyists.

If after doing your homework, you still cry out for a woman because she is, in your opinion, the best candidate, then I say “go for it”, but do it because of the content of her character, not because she happened to be born female.

As a female, I am insulted by the women who obviously consider me, and other independent thinkers, so shallow and narrow minded that we can be led by such rhetoric that it is “time for a woman President”. NO, it is time for a President of any sex that will do the work they are meant to do and will start by getting rid of the pork, all the fraud and abuse, help fix what is broken and move forward, and be responsible enough to protect our borders, our security, and our freedoms. I am insulted by people (both men and women) who think women have to be protected from birth to death because they are not capable of being responsible enough to buy their own birth control, control their actions, believe that taxpayers have to pay for other women’s abortions, who won’t institute laws or regulations that take away a person’s religious or other beliefs because it is different than their own. I want a President who will work within the confines and protect the Constitution and this way of thinking has nothing whatsoever to do with their gender, and has EVERYTHING to do with the content of their character.
